Love is not on the brain

Love
is not on the brain.
It is speeding up the blood in my veins.

It is a Gordian knot in my guts,
a punch in my abdomen,
an excuse to go nuts
confusing fortuity and omen.

Love
is not on the brain
unless a broken heart becomes a migraine.

It is a shiver down my spine
or tears leaking from my eyes.
Cheek to cheek, I with thine,
your hands in disguise.

Love
is not on the brain.
Love doesn’t think before it causes you pain.

Love was meant for the underdogs,
the dark horses, the long-shots,
for those who hide in the fog
and come to the front page from the blind spot.

Love
is not on the brain.
Love will do it best to turn you insane.

"And babe I’m fist-fighting with fire
Just to get close to you"
