Turn down these voices inside my head

As you try to give your life a new direction, you get to know great people and not-so-great people who lead you to what/where/who/how you are now. These not-so-great people may not make a good first impression on you but you decide they deserve being given a second chance, and a third chance, and a fourth one...

And there you are, spending your time on making these not-so-great people love you. Because, even though you aren't sure about your feelings, you want everybody else to be sure, you want them to appreciate you. You are so naive that you can't understand what it feels like to be hated. Basically, that's the way your life goes: you make every decision so as not to disappoint anyone. 

You deeply believe you should be loved but you don't dare to say "I love you" to one of the people you love the most, because if you did, you probably wouldn't be able to do normal anymore. You are firmly convinced that it's not worth risking, you are resigned to an ordinary life.

As you, I also prefer facts to possibilities... and it's a fact that I can't make you love me if you don't.
